About Dr Kieron Lim

Dr Kieron Lim is a senior consultant specialising in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Dr Lim is currently the Director of the liver transplant program at Mount Elizabeth Hospital. He is also the Chair of the Gastroenterology Special Interest Group, and Endoscopy Committee at Mount Elizabeth Hospital. Dr Lim currently serves as a member of the Medical Advisory Board, and Pathology Tissue Committee at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, and is the Vice-Chair of the Chapter of Gastroenterologists at the Academy of Medicine in Singapore.

Dr Lim graduated from St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London School of Medicine (UK), and worked at the liver unit at The Royal Free Hospital before returning to Singapore. He undertook his fellowship training in advanced liver disease and liver transplantation at the Recanati/Miller Transplantation Institute, Ichan School of Medicine at Mount Sinai New York, USA.

Prior to setting up his specialist clinic at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre, Dr Lim was Head of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, National University Hospital (NUH), and Medical Director for liver transplantation at the National University Centre for Organ Transplantation. He was an assistant professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and honorary adjunct assistant professor at the Division of Liver Diseases, Ichan School of Medicine at Mount Sinai New York, USA. Dr Lim is currently a visiting consultant at NUH where he continues to be involved in postgraduate education and training of future specialists.

Dr Lim has extensive experience in caring for patients with conditions related to the esophagus, stomach, colon, liver, pancreas, and gallbladder. His special interests include assessment and treatment of liver fibrosis, liver cirrhosis and its complications, viral hepatitis B and C, fatty liver disease, liver cancer, and colon cancer. Dr. Lim also has wide experience in endoscopic procedures. These include diagnostic oesophago-gastro-duodenoscopy (OGD), endoscopic treatment of bleeding peptic ulcers, and treatment of esophageal and gastric varices, colonoscopy, and polypectomy. Dr. Lim also performs capsule endoscopy and liver transient elastography (FibroScan).
